Offset Printing मध्ये Quality Fail म्हणजे काय ?

(Operator, Machine की Management? – Root Cause Analysis)

Introduction:

प्रिंटिंग प्रेसमध्ये एक वाक्य नेहमी ऐकू येतं— “काम चांगलं झाल होतं, पण Quality मध्ये Problem आला” …पण Quality problem म्हणजे नशीब खराब असणं नाही. माझ्या 30+ वर्षांच्या अनुभवात मी एक गोष्ट ठामपणे सांगू शकतो Quality fail होण्यामागे नेहमी कारण असतात? आज आपण ते कारण तांत्रिक आणि Practical पद्धतीने पाहूया.

1) Operator Error – सगळ्यात जास्त दुर्लक्षित कारण,

बहुतेक वेळा Quality Problem वर दोष मशीन ला दिला जातो, पण प्रत्यक्षात समस्या असते Operator Handling मध्ये.

 उदाहरण:

·         Color Density अंदाजाने सेट करणे.

·         Dampening योग्य न ठेवणे

·         Registration नीट check न करणे

👉 Result: Color variation, Text blur….   Rejection वाढतो.

📌 Skilled operator = Quality control चा पहिला Gate.

2) Machine Condition – Maintenance नसेल तर Quality नाही..,

मशीन चालू आहे म्हणजे Quality येते असं नाही.

 Common technical issues:

·         Blanket worn out.

·      Ink/Damping Roller setting चुकीची.

·         Pressure imbalance.

·         Gripper problem.

 उदाहरण:

Blanket जुनी(कोटिंग गेलेली)→ Ink uneven transfer, Background patchy दिसतो, Client reject

📌 Machine maintenance = invisible quality factor

3) Plate Quality – सुरुवात इथूनच होते.

Plate जर चुकीची असेल तर पुढचं सगळं चुकतं.

Plate related problems:

·         Under exposure / over exposure

·         Plate scratches

·         Storage problem

उदाहरण:

Plate exposure कमी → fine text fill up.
→ Sharpness जाते,  Brand job rejects

📌 Plate = Foundation of offset quality

4) Paper Quality – सगळे paper सारखे नसतात.

Paper हा फक्त raw material नाही, तो quality चा Active भाग आहे.

Common mistakes:

·         Wrong GSM selection

·         Moisture content जास्त

·         Grain direction ignore करणे

उदाहरण:

Grain चुकली → folding crack
→ Binding weak,  Customer unhappy

📌 Paper choose wrong = quality compromise fixed

5) Process Discipline – Management चा role,

Quality problem नेहमी floor वर दिसतो, पण मूळ कारण अनेकदा management level वर असतं.

 Management failures:

·         Job card incomplete

·         No quality checklist

·         Urgent jobs without planning

👉 Result:

·         Operator confusion

·         Repeat mistakes

·         No accountability

📌 System नसल्यास Quality Luck वर चालते

6) Proofing stage skip केल्याने काय होतं?

Proofing म्हणजे वेळ वाया घालवणं नाही, तो Quality Insurance आहे.

उदाहरण:

Client proof approves न करता print
→ color mismatch complaint,  “हे अपेक्षेप्रमाणे नाही”

📌 One proof saved = one rejection avoided

7) Quality Failures चे Real परिणाम,

Quality problem म्हणजे:

·         Reprint cost

·         Paper wastage

·         Labour loss

·         Client trust damage

👉 पैसा जातोच, पण नाव खराब होणं जास्त महाग पडतं.

Conclusion:

Printing मध्ये Quality fail:
❌ अचानक होत नाही
❌ फक्त मशीनमुळे होत नाही

✅ ती होते:

1.    Operator error

2.    Machine condition neglect

3.    Poor planning

4.    Weak process
